Farewell Nine Emperor Gods Festival 2013

Hi people,

As the Nine Emperor Gods Festival draws to a close for the year 2013, It has been a great experience for me and also for other photographers as well. Committing oneself into capturing photographic moments of a carnival like festival ain't an easy task. Try asking any photographers and also journalist the pains they've gone through and endured during the 9 days of the festival (especially on day 9th).

Personally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few good friends (who are from various chinese ethnicity) whom I have made while I journey myself throughout the mystical world of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival. Truly, without them my chances of taking good pics will not have succeeded. Again, together with their kind understanding, I was able to walk through the fire pit twice at Ampang temple and once at the Kajang temple this year. Thanks guys (at Ampang Kow Ong Yeh Temple) and stay in touch.

While the Nine Emperor Gods was busy granting wishes to His devotees and temple patrons, He would not be too happy with His little napoleons exerting their power on His holy ground creating much disturbance. Off course there will always be a few higher ranking officials who are there to hinder magical happenings of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival. And, I do acknowledge and understand their responsibility on preventing any outward incidents from occurring. By further exerting unnecessary authority to a much controlled situation, which will not only tense the harmonious environment of the festival but rather changing the main perception of the festival in its entirety.

As for myself, this will very likely be my first and final coverage for the Nine Emperor Gods Festival at Ampang Kow Ong Yeh Temple.

Cheers.
