My reply to Steven McIntire's comment

 Hi Steven M.

My apologies if you find my blog to be dull and not so informative. When I started this blog back in 2012, it (the blog) was posted with much detailed happenings in and around the Nine Emperor Gods Festival throughout the entire 9 days.

However, that all changed when I deleted 90% of my postings (as for the year 2012, all posting has been deleted) when I've gotten comments and feedback from viewers advising me to be extra careful and sensitive of my postings when other people's beliefs are involved yet respectful.  Without knowingly, I may have posted some posting that are "politically incorrect" on my blog.

My initial objective of starting this blog was to provide viewers with an extra information to the said festival as there are plentiful information out there online and you can probably google them. Anyways, I do presume that viewers who visited my blog do have some general view or idea of what my blog is all about so I need not be too fancy on it.

As for this years celebration of The Nine Emperor Gods Festival, I will be at the Kajang Nine Emperor Gods Temple throughout the entire 9 days and will most probably not do any postings.

Sam.

I believe everything said was very logical. However, what
about this?suppose you added a little content?
I mean, I don't wish to tell you how to run your blog, however what if you added something
that grabbed people's attention? I mean "Day 9 : Final farewell to the Nine Emperor Gods." is a little plain. You should glance at Yahoo's front page and note how they create news headlines to get
people to click. You might add a video or a related picture
or two to grab readers interested about what you've
got to say. Just my opinion, it could bring your website
a little livelier.

Time Lapse Video and Real Time Video : Fire Crossing Ceremony at Nine Emperor Gods Temple in Kajang and Ampang

Hi People,

I was very fortunate this year for having my pic taken while I was crossing the fire pit at Fong Tin Gong Nine Emperor Gods Temple in Kajang. It was a courtesy from my friend Leong who is also with me at Ampang Kow Ong Yeh for the "Bridge Crossing Ceremony" and also "Fire Walking Ceremony".  I was the last person to cross the fire pit hence ending the fire walking ceremony for the year2013 at Foong  Tin Gong Nine Emperor Gods Temple  in Kajang. The time lapse video below you can see me holding my camera with my glasses on my head. Fortunately it did not fell off.  :))

Thank you Leong (a freelance photographer) for capturing this rare moment.

Thanks to all my fellow friends from various chinese ethnicity (at Ampang Kow Ong Yeh) for making this possible for me.

Also a special thanks to Cheryl for showing me the know how prior to day 9th of the festival .

The "Bridge Crossing Ceremony" at the Nine Emperor Gods Festival Ampang K.L was a success for 2013. There was an overwhelming crowd and people were lining up to participate  the bridge crossing ceremony for good health and fortune. The event lasted for more than an hour and everybody was shouting "Wahlah" throughout the entire event.

Here are a few pics for the "Bridge Crossing Ceremony" at the Nine Emperor Gods Festival Ampang K.L

Farewell Nine Emperor Gods Festival 2013

Hi people,

As the Nine Emperor Gods Festival draws to a close for the year 2013, It has been a great experience for me and also for other photographers as well. Committing oneself into capturing photographic moments of a carnival like festival ain't an easy task. Try asking any photographers and also journalist the pains they've gone through and endured during the 9 days of the festival (especially on day 9th).

Personally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few good friends (who are from various chinese ethnicity) whom I have made while I journey myself throughout the mystical world of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival. Truly, without them my chances of taking good pics will not have succeeded. Again, together with their kind understanding, I was able to walk through the fire pit twice at Ampang temple and once at the Kajang temple this year. Thanks guys (at Ampang Kow Ong Yeh Temple) and stay in touch.

While the Nine Emperor Gods was busy granting wishes to His devotees and temple patrons, He would not be too happy with His little napoleons exerting their power on His holy ground creating much disturbance. Off course there will always be a few higher ranking officials who are there to hinder magical happenings of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival. And, I do acknowledge and understand their responsibility on preventing any outward incidents from occurring. By further exerting unnecessary authority to a much controlled situation, which will not only tense the harmonious environment of the festival but rather changing the main perception of the festival in its entirety.

As for myself, this will very likely be my first and final coverage for the Nine Emperor Gods Festival at Ampang Kow Ong Yeh Temple.

Cheers.

Day 6th : Bridge Crossing Ceremony at Foong Tin Gong Kajang, Selangor

Bridge Crossing Ceremony was held on day 6th of he Nine Emperor Gods Festival at Foong Tin Gong , Kajang. On this occasion patrons to the temple pay a small token (taken as donation) to walk across the blessed bridge by the mediums as a symbol for good health and prosperity. Each patron will then get a stamp behind their backs before and after bridge crossing.

Day 6th: Feeding The Soldiers Ceremony at Nan Tian Gong Ampang, K.L

Here is a pic I took today at the Nine Emperor Gods Temple in Ampang, K.L.

I left the Ampang Temple shortly after my meal (provided by the temple) and return to Kajang for the "Bridge Crossing" Ceremony. I think Sean has day 6th night coverage at the Ampang Kow Wong Yeh Temple. You can visit Sean's blog here.

See you there on day 8th and 9th of the festival.

Day 6th at Ampang Nan Tian Gong Nine Emperor Gods Temple.

I arrived early today at Ampang Nan Tian Gong Temple. As usual it was flooded with people who goes there to get their wishes granted by the Nine Emperor Gods.

Anyways, I did ask around about fire walking participation. Apparently, you have to have a number tag to walk across the fire pit at Ampang Nan Tian Gong. Fortunately, for those who is without a number tag will also be allowed to cross the fire pit but they'll have to wait for their turn until all people with tags have crossed the fire pit. Off course all people who wanted to cross the fire pit must practice vegetarian for the duration of 10 days.

On the 5th day of Nine Emperor Gods Festival 2013

Hi people,

Today, the 5th day of the festival, there ain't too much happening but rather prayers and opera shows. Thus, I can pen down a few words before tomorrow's events. Tomorrow, the 6th day of the festival, I have decided to do day time coverage at the Nine Emperor Gods Ampang Temple and  night time coverage here at the Foong Tin Gong for the bridge crossing ceremony.

As for day 8th and day 9th of the festival, I will most probably be covering the fire crossing and the bridge crossing at the Ampang temple and sent off the Nine Emperor Gods from there. Keeping fingers crossed, I hope the people at the Ampang Nine Emperor Gods Temple would allow me to do the fire crossing yet again. Well, gotta ask nicely first.  :) :)

So see you there.
