Getting here.

Here's a little note for those people who wants to get to Kajang Nine Emperor Gods Temple (Foong Tin Gong).

There are several ways to get to Kajang town from Kuala Lumpur (K.L), one is by KTM komuter and the other is by bus. If I can remember correctly the fare for komuter and bus (1 way trip) is about RM 3++.
The train or KTM komuter will stop at the train station and the bus final destination will be in the town centre itself. Ok, for those who takes the train ride, the train station is about 10 minutes walk to the heart of town where the bus terminal is.

From the town centre, you can either take a cab which will cost between RM5.00-RM8.00 per trip to your final destination Foong Tin Gong Temple. Or you can walk along Jalan Sungai Chua to the temple itself (Jalan 17, Kampung Sungai Chua Kajang) (its about 15-20 minutes walk).

Anyways, the best transportation is still by car. If you have a friend who is going to the temple maybe you can car pool.

The Nine Emperor Gods Festival is here again for 2013

Hi there,

It has been a year (2012) since I posted articles, pics and video on The Nine Emperor Gods festival. Last year  was an eventful year for me as I participated in the events such as fire walking, etc. Myself being able to  practice vegetarianism for the duration of 9 days was a great learning experience. 

This year will most probably be more or less the same for me plus I'll be heading to some other Nine Emperor Gods Temples (i.e Ampang Temple).

As I've mentioned on this blog before, information about The Nine Emperor Gods Festival (i.e the existence , background history,  festival happenings, relation to taoism, folk culture, big dipper constellation, etc) can be obtained from Cheryl's blog. For the year 2012, Cheryl was at the Johor Nine Emperor Gods Temple. Being a superb photographer herself, she introduced  photography to a whole new level by capturing the people's smiles and the emotional environment throughout the festival.

 Preparation are underway for the celebration of The Nine Emperor Gods Festival here at Foong Tin Gong Temple for the year 2013.

For this year 2013, dates and events  for the celebration of The Nine Emperor Gods festival here at Kajang will be same as of 2012. Any changes will be posted.

The Nine Emperor Gods Festival celebration will begin on  the eve of October 04, 2013 (with the new moon on the 9th month of lunar calender) and ends on October 13, 2013.
